What to do if a customer wants to cancel his online ticket and requests a refund?
If the customer wishes to cancel his ticket, the organizer can decide whether this request is granted and if he proceeds the refund himself or if this is executed by MyUpcoming.com .
If the organizer asks MyUpcoming.com to execute the refund, MyUpcoming.com requires a fee for processing refunds. The processing cost of a refund equals the reservation cost of the ticket. There are 3 possibilities for this refund, we illustrate with an example:
Example: ticket 10 EUR + 1 EUR reservation cost
CASE 1: organizer asks MyUpcoming.com to return 11 EUR (f.e. when the event is cancelled):
In that case MyUpcoming.com refunds 11 EUR to the ticket buyer and the organizer has to return 2 EUR to MyUpcoming.com.
(1 EUR reservation cost of the original transaction + 1 EUR transaction cost of the refund)
CASE 2: organizer asks MyUpcoming.com to return 10 EUR (f.e. when the ticket buyer asks back his ticket price and the organizer agrees):
In that case MyUpcoming.com refunds 10 EUR to ticket buyer and the organizer has to return 1 EUR to MyUpcoming.com.
(1 EUR transaction cost of the refund)
CASE 3: organizer asks MyUpcoming.com to refund 9 EUR (f.e. when the ticket buyer asks back his ticket price and the organizer does not want to give a compensation for it).
In that case MyUpcoming.com refunds 9 EUR to ticket buyer and the organizer doensn't need to return anything.
(the consumer gets back the ticket price but not the reservation cost, and he has to pay a transaction cost of 1 EUR for the refund)
